Australia's Biggest Bakslap

We’ve got your back this summer! Come to Mooloolaba Beach between 8am and 10am on December 14 to celebrate the inaugural Australia’s Biggest Bakslap – a family friendly free event at Mooloolaba Beach, Sunshine Coast Queensland. Participants will be encouraged to be part of Australia’s biggest sunscreen challenge, where we aim to have 2000 people simultaneously applying sunscreen for 3 minutes. Let’s show our community is serious about sun safety as we kick off summer. There’ll also be a variety of fun activities for all ages with prizes and special offers from local businesses available to all those who attend.

About event organiser bakslap

Bakslap Founder Raph McGowan sadly lost his sister Tess to melanoma skin cancer in 2012. The Melanoma was found on her back, in one of those typically hard to reach places. Tess passed away at age 31.

Since her death, Raph has made it his mission to rid the world of this terrible disease. In 2017 bakslap was born. It’s a unique sunscreen & lotion applicator that allows you to apply to those hard to reach places like your back. It ensures you protect your entire body, without getting messy hands!

To complement the bakslap message, this summer Raph is embarking on a new mission: Australia’s Biggest Bakslap. This event will allow all Aussies to get behind Raph, bakslap and each other.

In addition to raising awareness about sun safety, Australia’s Biggest Bakslap aims to achieve the goal of introducing complimentary sunscreen stations across Australia’s major beaches, so there’s no excuse not to protect yourself and save a life. This offering will kick off at Raph’s local surf spot, Mooloolaba Beach.
